Doctoral student Shriya Jamakandi has received an Emerging Scholars Grant from the Society of Family Planning to investigate the impact of the overturning of Roe v. Wade on the health outcomes of pregnant women with private insurance.

Birth By Us, a maternal health app co-founded by Ijeoma Uche ’21, is one of three winners of the 2024 Westly Prize for Young Social Innovators, the Westly Foundation announced Jan. 23 on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The goal is to find innovative solutions while maintaining a key focus on community engagement and a careful consideration of the social impact of potential solutions.
