Commencement 2021

The School of Public Health celebrated its graduates with a virtual ceremony in advance of Brown University’s Commencement Weekend

Commencement 2021

Brown University School of Public Health

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, family, and community members from around the world joined together on April 29 for a virtual Commencement program featuring student-selected speakers, awards, and very special guest, Dr. Vivek Murthy, U.S. Surgeon General. In his remarks, Murthy acknowledged the incredible year these students are taking their next steps in. “I know many of you didn’t expect that your education in public health would be disrupted by, of all things, a public health emergency,” he said. “Yet in the midst of the suffering, our world has endured. This gathering, your graduation, is a testament to all the reasons we have to be hopeful about the future.” Brown University hosted in person ceremonies for graduating students that accorded with public health protocols. The live streamed events, attended by families and friends virtually, were recorded and can be relived at SPH Commencement 2021.
