Ten on the 10s: Shannon Sullivan MHL’21

In celebration of Brown SPH's 10th Anniversary, we're featuring an alum on the 10th of each month who is advancing public health in Rhode Island.

Shannon Sullivan MHL’21 is president and chief operating officer at Women & Infants Hospital, the primary teaching hospital in obstetrics, gynecology, and newborn pediatrics of the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University and a member of the Care New England Health System. We asked Shannon how her experience in the Brown School of Professional Studies Master’s in Healthcare Leadership program has shaped her career.

How does your Brown training impact your work?

The Brown program really increased my business acumen, helping me address the complex issues that are facing healthcare professionals and providers in an ever changing environment.

“ Find where your passion and mission lies. Once you know where and how you want to make an impact, everything else follows. You’ll work incredibly hard and what will keep you going is the passion for those you serve. ”
